Our Staff
Danielle Goldthorp and Sarah Mouland are the Nursery Managers and have various relevant qualifications and a vast amount of experience working with children.
We believe that each staff member is a unique individual. We want to demonstrate that we value each different talent and recognise how a team of individuals can add value in different ways to make the nursery more effective and exciting. The whole ethos of the nursery is reflected in the nursery team.
We aim to run on a fully qualified work force. All the team either have an early years qualification or are working towards one. These include qualified and experienced Nursery Nurses, NNEB, NVQ 2 & 3 in Childcare and Education and University degrees. This forms a firm basis of expertise upon which we can all draw from. We all value each other’s talents and value each others roles.
The Team Development Plan is designed to enhance the team spirit and to enable the individual to develop these too. It also forms the basis for the development of the whole nursery. The standards at First Steps are set high because we believe in the capacity and potential of the team. We have long standing staff with many years of experience to help build an environment where children can feel safe and secure. Staff create new and exciting learning opportunities for the children to enhance their learning and prepare them for the future. All staff complete regular Safeguarding training to a level 2 or above and undertake paediatric First Aid.
We have designated Safeguarding Officers and Health and Safety Officers on site and a curriculum lead, who specialises in Special Educational needs (SENCO).
